For the home
Residential Electrical
Dead outlets, tripping breakers, wall heaters, EV chargers, hot tubs and saunas, in a historic bungalow or a new build.
Chapter 01
A dead outlet, a tripping breaker, a closet light before a showing
Most residential calls start small and annoying. An outlet quits, a breaker won't stay on, a GFCI needs replacing, a light goes out the day before somebody comes to look at the house. Thunder Electric's own line for the residential side is reliable electrical solutions for your home, and the crew says it makes no difference if the house is a cozy historic bungalow or a modern new build. Every home is unique, and they're ready to handle the electrical challenge regardless of the home's age or wiring conditions.
Diane Harkins called with that last one. Her closet light went out right before a realtor was coming to view her house, and even though the crew was short handed, Thunder got an electrician to her late that same day. It was the third time she'd called Thunder.
The shop is at 704 River Rd in Yakima, and the trucks cover Yakima, Selah, Union Gap, Naches, Wapato, Toppenish, Zillah, Sunnyside, Grandview, Ellensburg and Cle Elum.

How a service call runs, from the first call to the invoice
A service call is $65 per 30 minutes, with a one hour minimum. Any time past the first hour is billed in half-hour intervals. In practice that's the small stuff: troubleshooting, a repair, a quick install or replacement like changing out a light. The published residential rate is $130 per hour per tech, which is the same math.
The tech troubleshoots, fixes what's wrong and heads out. Nobody charges you on site. Thunder sends an invoice by mail and email, usually within 1-2 weeks after the work is done. Card payments carry a 3% processing fee, and check or cash works too. Travel is charged portal to portal.
After hours is a different line. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 to 5, and closed on weekends, but the 24/7 emergency line at (509) 575-8362 directs you to the on-call tech at any time. Stan Buechler wrote, “I had a problem on a Sunday. Thunder Electric was at my house in two and a half hours.”
Chapter 03
Bigger home work: chargers, heaters, water heaters, hot tubs and saunas
Not every call is a ten-minute fix, and the residential side covers the bigger work too.
The published list is EV charging station installations, wall heater and lighting installs and solutions, breaker repair and installations, panel and service changes, electric water heater repairs and generator installations. They also specialize in hot tub and sauna installations. Those sit with the rest of their new-circuit work: kitchen and laundry equipment, additional outlets, television receptacles and additional lights.
Bigger jobs like panel changes and remodels get a free estimate first. The estimator comes out, looks at the job and puts a cost together, and the estimate asks for at least a 50% deposit of the total estimated job, paid by the date of scheduled work. Projects over $500 can be financed through Wisetack, subject to credit approval.
